Yesterday, I was at the library with the kids and asked Jimmy if he had his library card.
His response after a pause:
I gave it to you. When you asked me, I was stammering because I couldn't think of a good answer. If I said "No" you would tell me to go look for it. So I had to be careful the way I answered the question.
I should have remembered he gave back his card. I was surprised that Jimmy (age 7) said "stammering." I haven't heard that word in a long time.

I think Jimmy should be a lawyer when he grows up. He is almost always very careful and thorough about his choice of words.
