are you for reals? There's got to be more to the story than that.... I've always wondered what would happen if one of my kids dialed that while I was unaware....
The entire story is really bland. I was playing with the kids upstairs- Jonny was serving hot dogs, chicken, and cold water with puppies in it for "lunch" at the play kitchen. After I finished my "lunch," I explained that I would be going downstairs to set up a science experiment for Jimmy. He'd been waiting all day to make "mimzy crystals." As I was leaving, Amelia said "will you play with me?" and I repeated "No, I need to go set up Jimmy's experiment."
So I was downstairs boiling water when Jimmy ran down yelling "Amelia just called 911!" I ran upstairs and grabbed the phone to hear "if this is an emergency, press 1. If you need phone repair dial 611... "and an operator came on the line. "what number was dialed?" I frantically asked. "0 operator" was the reply. I was totally relieved and hung up the phone. I sent Amelia to her room for playing with the phone. 5 minutes later, 2 police officers showed up. I opened the door and said "oh my... she really did call 911." I retrieved her from her room, hoping the police would give her a stern talking to- they did not. In fact one of the few things they said was "She (Amelia) looks just like you (me)" Amelia felt awful. After they left, she curled up on the couch and didn't move for about half an hour. So I guess her emergency was "mom won't play with me???"
PS- I found out later that after Amelia called 911, Jimmy called 0 operator and that was who I talked to. PPS We didn't receive a citation for a fake call, but fully expect to receive one in the mail.
